"I Promise" Puppy

The purpose of the "I Promise" Puppy is to help make learning new behaviors easier for your child. When you are working with your child on a specific behavior, give the child the bear and fill in the heart shaped "I Promise" tag with the appropriate words. For example, if you are trying to help your child share his/her toys, you might want to write "I promise to try and share my toys". (Remember that children should not be asked to share special toys with playmates.)

During the course of the day, if the situation arises, encourage your child to play with the bear while you remind him or her of the promise written on the heart. The "I Promise" Puppy serves as a comforting support to your child as he/she learns new behaviors.

Try to remain calm and patient with your child. Learning new behaviors and changing old ones takes time, but with your love and guidance they will succeed.
